I don't know how many of you are into the work of Kevin Trudeau, author of "Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About" and "More Natural Cures Revealed: Previously Censored Brand Name Products That Cure Disease," but you might want to take a look at this before believing what he says:

Hi Dave,

I think we are talking about two different "Trudeaus" here. I think you are referring to Gary Trudeau the cartoonist. Shawn is talking about Kevin Treudeau, a TV info-mercial snake-oil salesman.

Trudeau likely has TMS. I remember he went through a period of 'the yips' where he couldn't draw his cartoon for awhile. So it is not surprising that he would spend a lof of time seeking (and believing in) alternative cures.

Thanks Shawn,

I pretty much dismiss outright anyone and any product, that appears in info-mercials. The format of the shows make the pretense that they are "real" news programs. People get fooled into believing they contain editorial veracity rathter than the pure advertising that they are. "As Seen On TV" bears an impramature of crediblilty in our society--beats me why.

The media bares much blame for these ruses. Apparently, freedom of the press means, the media's freedom to take money from any con, ex-con and snake-oil saleman that will buy air-time.

The media goes around exposing all kinds of rackets, maybe it should investigate itself and it's culpability in ripping off billions of dollars from the public by selling air-time to any charlatan willing to throw dollars at it.

In TDM, the media's role is mentioned in mis-informing the public on medical issues. The public has bestowed on the media a false sense of crediblilty it doesn't deserve. The general public gets much of it's medical info from the media and trusts it more than doctor's advice. If people could witness how the average news-story is produced, it would be as revolted as witnessing the manufacture of laws or sausages, (actually forgive me for insulting sausages by putting them in with such odious company).

Cheers,
tt
