Posted - 11/01/2006 : 13:45:20 I have suffered from foot pain & joint pain for several years now. I have recently read The Divided Mind, and am interested in a consultation with a specialist in psychosomatic medicine. I live in southeastern Michigan. Does anyone know of a way to obtain references for my area.[:)

Posted - 11/04/2006 : 21:50:57 Ditto to the other replies. I had a spell of plantar fascitis way back when, before I'd heard of TMS. I didn't worry about it much because I never read any really dire warnings about what could happen if it was left "untreated." (Unlike the achilles thing I've battled with). I just bulled through it and came out fine.

Posted - 11/03/2006 : 15:37:45 I was playing soccer with my grandson (in cheap sneakers) when I felt a severe pain in my heel.
My doctor said it was plantar fasciitis. The pain lasted for almost a year.
Several postings, plus Dr. Sarno, have clearly indicated that it is TMS. I wish that I had known.

Posted - 11/02/2006 : 12:07:55 Hi-- there are at lest two Dr.s in Michigan. Check this resource for details:

You might also want to do a search on this site for 'plantar fasciitis' (or maybe just "plantar," since fasciitis gets spelled a lot of different ways), as I'm sure its been discussed in several different threads. I've had it, and I now know that it was just a TMS symptom. I learned this, of course, after I tried a whole slew of physcial remedies, none of which worked.
