It is certainly nothing new that Dr. Sarno's work is not embraced by the scientific community, and dismissed by those who suffer from fibromyalgia and other chronic symptoms. Dr. Sarno himself says that there are some people who are just unable to accept that physical symptoms can be caused by the mind.
