On page 31, of THE DIVIDED MIND, Dr. Sarno makes reference to the "celestial architect". I would think this could be froth with many interesting TMS implications. Comments ?

I’m still struggling to understand where the stuff on top of a cappuccino fits in with all this.

wrldtrv,

it's interesting that you redicule me in the second person rather than directly. i have no problem talking to you directly. do you have a problem facing issues head-on? i defintely DO NOT argue about everything. you pick and choose my posts that fit into your comfotable worldtrv view. the vast majority of my posts are about tms theory or directing newbies to tms doctors or psychotherapists. i have yet to see you jump in and do this--please wrldtrav be my guest next time a newbie asks for help. i'm starting to get burned out by all the poliitcal and religious nit-picking coming especially from the oh so "open-minded" liberal wing. anyone disagreeing with their hallowed views are found to be disagreeable and not to be engaged in debate or discusssion--freud would call this DENIAL. yes i occasionaly use sarcasm, but only when the view being presented is so sublimely rediculous that it does not warrant any rational form of reply. worldtrav, if we could just agree to disagree and not resort to the chief weapon of liberals, name calling, and personal attack, this would not be as fun a site as it is.

your ex-workmate
tt still bugging you after all these years and it isn't very hard work, for me, at least

When I lived in the Bay Area I used to work with a guy just like TT (maybe it WAS TT!). For almost 15 years, we argued about nearly everything. It didn't matter what I would say, he would always take the opposite position just to be a pain in the a_ _. But if there was anything good that came out of that experience, it was that I learned it is completely useless to even respond to to such provocation. These people work hard at "getting your goat" and are delighted when they succeed. Yes, occasionally I can't resist taking the bait, but that's my fault.

Thanx Susie...Makes sense what you said about the unconscious running the show all the time...You always seem to help me and I am grateful to you..
PeterW Posted - 07/15/2006 : 13:51:25
Afraid in my ignorance I had to google 'Episcopalian' . Not exactly a Theology scholar here. : )

Well, now that that critical matter is put to rest (for now), seems we are smoothing things over by switching to right wing politics as the topic of the day . .

Susie: "I really think and hope America is on to them, don"t you?"

I do sincerely hope so, the rest of the planet was a long time ago.

For the record I'm on board with Art and Wrldtrv, but being a typical left leaning Canadian who detests violence anywhere outside of a hockey rink, that's to be expected and I'd better keep my mouth shut from here . . .

BTW do I hear Dave's fingers inching any closer to the 'delete thread' button? : )

I think so Susie...For one thing, his approval numbers are abysmally low now, so that's encouraging..

Do you attribute this to the large number of minorities and women he has appointed to his cabinet?

Would it help put things to rest if I told you that I heard through the grapevine that the great Dr. is an Episcopalian? Or will we need to discuss for another 100 posts whether or not he actually attends services on Sunday, thus leading to another drawnout saga of Christianity versus everything else? Art, will you marry me?

I saw that study in the NYT, and it said another 25% of the population tends to crave anarchy and not to think at all, and 23% of those are demos.

Both Hitler and Stalin used the same term for these folks : "useful idiots"

Pastor appointed by Bush won't apologize for remarks
on Islam

BY BRENDAN FARRINGTON
AP POLITICAL WRITER

http://www.heraldtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060711/APP/607110945

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Rev. O'Neal Dozier has two
missions, and he has been outspoken about achieving
both: saving souls and helping Republicans.

A personable black pastor and former professional
football player from Broward County, he has associated
with Gov. Jeb Bush and recently introduced
gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist at a meeting
with other pastors - an event at which he said Jesus
Christ told him Crist would be the next governor.

But after Dozier called Islam a cult and began
fighting a mosque planned for a largely black Pompano
Beach neighborhood, Bush's office asked him to resign
as a member of a commission that nominates judges for
appointment. His views, criticized by Muslims, will
mean his political involvement may be less
influential, which he sees as a regrettable
consequence to his primary mission.

"I need political influence in order to obtain the
things that I think that I need to obtain for the
Lord, Jesus Christ," he said Tuesday, two days after
turning in his resignation. "I would love to be able
to maintain that and at the same time win souls for
the Lord. But I guess sometimes that's not possible."

And so he offers no apologies and continues to say the
Quran is evil.

"My agenda is speaking on behalf of God because I'm a
preacher That's my calling," said Dozier, pastor of
The Worldwide Christian Center. "I will not back down.
I can't. For me to back down wouldn't make me."

Dozier says black men are receptive to Islam and he
doesn't want their souls to be lost. He also believes
Islam uses the Quran to teach violence. He said black
men are angry enough without being taught violence
against those who don't share their believes. It could
create situations like the terrorist plot to blow up
the Sears Tower that the FBI says it discovered in
Miami, he said.

"If you look at the Quran, all the way from the
beginning to the end it speaks of evil and violence,"
Dozier said. "The problem is, I find that most people
who are apologetic for Islam are those persons who
have not read the Quran."

His attitude is a misunderstanding of Islam, Ibrahim
Hooper, a spokesman for the Council on
American-Islamic Relations.

"He might take a look at his Bible again and see what
Jesus what would do in these circumstances," Hooper
said. "I doubt that Jesus, peace be upon him, would
seek to increase divisions and hostilities in the
society in which he lived. Jesus preached love and
respect, not hatred and mistrust."

Bush first appointed Dozier to the judicial nominating
committee in 2001. His current term was to end next
July.

Crist, the state's attorney general, asked Dozier to
introduce him at a pastors' breakfast in Miami in May.
Dozier told the group that Jesus came to him in a
dream and told him Crist would be the next governor.
Crist is facing state Chief Financial Officer Tom
Gallagher for the Republican nomination.

The Crist campaign said the candidate doesn't share
the pastor's views on Islam.

"Charlie Crist is happy to have his support. Just
because someone supports Charlie Crist, it doesn't
mean he agrees with their views, it means they agree
with his," said campaign spokeswoman Erin Isaac.

Karen, that doesn't surprise me, after all, your unconscious is running the show and it works when we are awake or asleep. Look at how we dream. By the way, I haven't heard anyone in ages suggest the book, Taming your Gremlin by rick Carson. It is a great little book and really brings about an awareness of the gremlins existance and gives one the ability to "notice" when it has hyjacked your brain. By noticing, one can usually stop the little devil immediately. Really helps difuse alot of anxiety.

Hi Susie,
I hear you and agree Susie...The whole world is suffering because of Bush and the Bushies! Can you take a quick look at what I wrote to wolf in the post 'pain on the run..?' I wanted to get your take on it..Hope you are doing well..
Hugs,
Karen

I am quite the liberal but I don't believe Bush is really a conservative. I am not embarassed to be an American but I am so terribly angry that the Bushies hold the reins of our country. I think he embarasses himself in his ignorance. The sad thing is that hundreds of thousands of people worldwide will suffer for his incompetance. I am not a Christian but I have never equated fundamentalism with Christianity.
Singer_Artist Posted - 07/15/2006 : 10:02:33
I am a devout Christian follower of Jesus,,,HOWEVER,,,I am NOT a fundamentalist and I HATE BUSH and feel embarassed to be an American right now...CHristianity and Conservatism do not go hand and hand..I have alot of Christian friends who are even more liberal then I am...

Art, I think Dean wrote a book on the subject. I saw him on Jon Stewart the other night. I have nothing against conservatives and think some of their physical policies are correct, but I'll bet you I hate this administration more than you, although it's hard to measure loathing. It's the most incompetant group of lying pukes I've ever seen but I really think and hope America is on to them, don"t you?

The really scary thing for me is how incestuous Christian fundamentalism and right wing politics have become in the past several years. And there's a large group of cynical politicians who are more than willing to seize whatever advantage they can get out of it--all in the Republican party, of course.

I heard something on the radio; some sort of 50 yr study that found that 25% of the population tends to crave authoritarian leadership, prefer not to think for themselves. It seems that an astounding 23% of these fearful people are Republican.

I know plenty of fundamentalists and most of them are great people; truly good, generous people. That's not the problem. The problem is when they, in their goodness, want to force their religion on me. No thanks, I'll make my own decisions.

There was a column written by JOhn dean in the Boston Globe today, arguing that Bush and company are actually not conservative at all, but arrogant, authoritarian, bigoted, small minded power mongers who brandish their religious fundamentalism like a weapon...and oh yes, who have a thing for torture as well..

It's a truly scary time in our country..That good people with kind hearts fall prey to all this fundamentalist religious crappola is quite sad to me...

I didn't think it was possible for me to geniunely loath a president, but I defintely feel that way about Bush//

EDit: JUst to add, I hated Clinton passionately as well..BUt Bush is in a league all his own..I can't wait for this administration to be over..
