Posted - 07/08/2006 : 10:22:01 Amelie Mauresmo has had a reputation as a "choker", i.e., "nerves", "questioning her MIND", "the wheels coming off", "leaking oil", or for our purposes here, subsceptible to being attacked by TMS at critical moments in sports competition.
Today she played flawlessly against Justine Henin-Hardenne, considered to be the mentally toughest, lady player around. It took Amelie years to accomplish this. Practiceing everyday, learning to FOCUS--her MIND, controlling her body, rather than her BODY controlling her mind. One mind over many bodies--rather than many minds and one body. It has taken her 11 years to learn to do this, to be come truly #1.
I found it interesting, that after winning, she jumped into the stands, leaped up many rows of seats, to thank and hug her COACH.
For those impatient with the length of time it takes to achieve the TMS "cure", take a lesson from Amelie's 11 year journey, to become the champion of the World.
