Posted - 06/16/2006 : 07:18:55 Hi,
My experience is that TMS is TMS--no matter where it shows up. In my case, the pain symptoms lifted from one day to the next; I went from extreme pain one day to being virtually pain free the following day. So, I don't think there is a time table or blue print to when symptoms may clear.
You may want to explore anxiety around your not feeling well enough to travel. There are so many things the mind likes to worry about regarding pain. If/when the pain will stop was high on my list of favorite worry topics.
What is helpful to me is to put my attention on what I am feeling in the present moment and explore that. Really what else is there to work with other than what is happening in the present moment?
I can relate to your feeling about making the trip or not. When I was in pain a few months ago, I felt presure to decide whether or not I would be able to join my family on a trip to ...Alaska. (We leave in two weeks.)
Only you can know what's right for you. I hope your pain lifts enough for you to make the trip if that is what you really want to do.
Bon voyage,
Rick |
