That is pretty interesting for the athleticly addicted, and I'm glad it popped up for whatever ** reason.

Posted - 05/13/2006 : 12:41:38 Read John Lee's book on safely expressing repressed anger. I have so much repressed rage that I need ways to get it out as well. The short answer to your question is that innocuous activities like sports and weightlifting will only release anger if you do it with that intention. I know that isn't the greatest answer, but that is what Lee says. So, like the previous post says, use your imagination to let the anger go in whatever physical activity you are doing, BUT DO IT WITHOUT HURTING YOURSELF AND (MORE IMPORTANTLY) HURTING ANYONE ELSE!!! |

Visualize abuser and do something mean to them in your imagination. This is not them so you can not hurt the person but the benefit of letting the steam out will be achieved. You can experiment, look for a feedback from your body, is the steam getting out? Is your tms symptom subsiding? Anger is all about destruction, this can sound barbaric and un acceptable but we were born with this instincts and theres no point in denying them. You can also visualize destroying things or even people, i`ve found that relief of this excercise is proportional to the amount of destruction, all in SAFETY of your mind. |
