Hi all.

I would like to hear from experiences relating wisdom teeth with TMS. My dentist is telling me that I must have them removed beceause there is no place for them go grow and it is putting a huge amount of pressure on my jaw. He said that it could explain my neck pain and my tinnitus.

Well of course, since I am doing TMS work since 3 months, I see here another potential wrong structural explanation for symtoms but at the same time I dont remember any mention of wisdom teeth discussed in TMS related litterature.

I must make a decision about about it and I don't know what to do ...

Any advices ?

Several years ago, I experienced terrible neck pain, which turned into neck, jaw and head pain. I played around with it for months, believing it was tension induced. Ultimately, my dentist suggested I see an oral surgeon and have my wisdom teeth removed becase, like Dave's, they were growing sideways. I had the procedure done. The pain went away overnight and has never returned. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

well you know what ? Most dentists are just like chiros, money makers... This is exactly why I also feel uncomfortable with their advices ...

Well I went to the dentist a couple of weeks ago, it had been a while since I ent. The dentist told me that I needed one of my wisdom teeth to come out, because it had a cavity, then said I would need to see an oral surgeon becuase the tooth is not fully through the gum line. He also said that one of my two frony teeth needed to come out, becuase I had a root canal done on it in my teens, evidently there is a cyst up in the gum, and becuase of that cyst, I need to have that tooth pulled. I can feel something there when pressure is applied. That dentist told me if you have a root canal than it has a 70% chance of that tooth stayin in. I have never heard of a such a thing. I am about to put dentists on my list right with ortho's, neuros, and chiro's. I just don't know what to believe any more.

I don't see why you should connect your wisdom teeth with pain in your neck. Seems to me, this is preoccupation with symptoms.

thanx a lot Dave and Joela. Your reply are very appreciated

I know these teeth are not of any use and I feel I sould get them removed because of the lack of space. However, As my neck is soo stiff and spasmed, I fear that removing these teeth will just give me more pain in the neck and I dont feel for it at all ... Conditionning ???? maybe ... probably in fact ...

anyways

Joela.. Too bad we cannot connect via email . I dont feel this forum is the best place to chat !!! hehe My neck condition is changing every single day since I started TMS work .. It is soo weird... One day the pain is muscular, the second day its totally neurological. tinnitus is still there varying with the degree of tension I am experiencing . I am now having eye floaters. Without light flashs they are supposed to be benign ...

The fact is that I am living a particularly stressful period in my life these days and its probably not helping my TMS recovery ...

anyways . I am trying to keep the work !

Joela , tell me more about your recent progress !

Hey P: I was wondering how you were doing! I got 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled. The ringing started about 1 year after that so I don't know if there was a correlation. I also had neck pain long before that and long after that. I know everyone is different but I just don't think you should get them pulled if you think the neck will get better. Saw Dr. Sarno today and he is awesome!!! I'm beginning to believe this ringing is totally psychological. I'll keep you posted.
Hope you're feeling better soon!

Pull 'em.

The fact is, many people experience problems with their wisdom teeth. Like tonsils and the appendix, they can cause us problems and we don't need them.

In my case they were growing sideways and there was no doubt they had to go.
