Can TMS make a tendon swell up?
I have heard that TMS is painful, but I have never heard of anyone on this site say that it swell up a tendon.
I wish I could see a TMS doctor and get the information I am looking for. I have read Dr. Sarno's Mind/body Prescription and he mentions no indication that TMS can cause a tendon to swell.
PLEASE can someone Enlighten me?

It's easy to miss something in a book. That's one of the reasons it's good to read Sarno's books over and over - each time you might glean something more. The other reason is that repetition seems to work the ideas further down into the unconscious.

I guess I must of not read page 99 correctly....
It is always scarey when a tendon swells up. If only I can convince myself that it's not an injury and just go with TMS...

My neck will sometimes swell just below the base of my skull when I have pain in that area. You can actually feel the lump. The swelling will usually last 2 to 4 days. It doesn't happen that often but when it does I'm having some serious pain.
When it does happen I'll take a pain pill, break out one of Dr. Sarno's books, and lay back on a warm heating pad.
I know what your thinking. That heating pad is not going to do a damn bit of good for your TMS. Your right, it doesn't but it feels so good.
While I'm laying there reading I'll thank my TMS grimlin for giving me a reason to gain more of Dr. Sarno's knowledge. Of course that just pisses the grimlin off and he goes away.
Yes, you can have swelling with TMS. |

Pg 99 of Mindbody Prescription:
"Although it is less common, swelling of the knee may accompany tendonitis. When I first became aware of this I felt a little insecure about advising the patient that it was part of TMS. In the light of consistent success in treatment, I am now quite comfortable with that diagnosis".
So it sounds like swelling can sometimes be part of TMS.
