Did anyone happen to catch the article in the recent Discover Magazine?

They compared the relative efficacy of fake acupuncture with sugar pills in the treatment of arm pain (TMS in most instances no doubt).

Both methods were very effective in reducing pain, with the accupuncture having the better results (they used needles that would retract).

As interesting as this was the side effects reported, which exactly matched those the study participants were told to expect.

To sum up, as the article put it, not having acupuncture proved more effective in the treatment of arm pain than not taking sugar pills.

The power of the human mind continues to amaze.
