After I red sarno's books I tried many times to go back to sport and physical activity, defying my fear to get injured. From what I understand, this defying process is a good thing to fight TMS but in mu case, it turned out to increase my muscle spasms and pain exactly as I feared....

Any thoughts or advices would be welcome ...

thanx you all !

thank you so much .,

I red HBP and MBP many times but i forgot those quotes. .. It's probably a strategy that my brain is trying to keep me into TMS.

Be sure I wont forget it and I will reread the books. Actually i did order sarnos videos this morning ..

thanx again for your help.

Although some people report that they just go back to activity and the pain disappears, that may not work for everyone. Myself, I prefer the gradual approach: starting off with small amounts and gradually increasing.

Quote from “The Mindbody Prescription”:

“The path to resumption of full physical activity, without fear, may be slow and uneven. Don't worry if you begin to exercise too soon and experience some pain. You cannot hurt yourself; TMS is a benign process. Continuing pain with activity means the brain is still in the process of changing its programming. You must bide your time, try and try again, and stay secure in the knowledge that you will prevail in the end. This has proven to be the case for thousands of patients.

"On the other hand, don't start the physical program too soon -- not because of potential physical harm, but because the brain may still be programmed in the TMS mode. I recommend waiting a few weeks after you accept the TMS diagnosis so the pain can diminish, confidence can be strengthened, and the brain will have had time to be reprogrammed."

Maybe you're being too impatient and starting too soon?
