I have had canker sores in various parts of my mouth on and off as long as I can remember. Doctors don't really know what causes canker sores, but they do say they may be triggered by stress, poor nutrition, food allergies and even menstrual periods.
Has other people on this board experienced canker sores? I wanted to see if TMS people are suseptible to them.

Whenever I am under great stress those little suckers pop up in my mouth like crazy without fail. Even my GP said it was from stress. |

Peter, I am impressed by your achievements displayed in "serving...". I wish you total recovery and I feel you are near by it.
Please answer my question if you are able. Yesterday I’ve sent it to dr Sarno via e-mail, but maybe sooner someone will be able to help me.
My MRI displayed little cyst at S2. All of neurologists and neurosurgeons said that it doesn’t matter for my back and sacral pain, but it should be observed. Following MB prescription and believing and following TMS diagnosis I come to the point that the pain movement focuses on my sacral spine. Then a doubt appears.
Medicine in Poland is in my opinion underdeveloped, so I will not find the doctor who will tell me something wise about it, and unfortunately for sure I will not find TMS doctor. And dr Sarno didn’t mention in MBP about cases with the cyst and the TMS diagnosis. Can you assure me that this is only TMS and I should totally ignore this cyst? I wish it so much.

yep, pain in mouth on and off throughout most of my 20s, now the TMS in my 30s. amazing how you start to connect the dots. I'm just afraid that I'm chalking up everything to TMS now. But why not? I'm still alive and relatively healthy. 8 weeks in and the sciatica pain is subsiding considerably, still fighting my hive allergy, down to no medicine some days. If the doctor can't explain it, try TMS first!
If it is chronic, I will not believe it. |

Peter...yes, yes, yes...canker sores can definitely be TMS. I had bouts with them for several years before finally licking TMS the first time around. Unfortunately I have been suffering with a bout of Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS) during TMS, part deux, which has included canker sores. |

I get canker sores on occasion also. Aren't they irritating? I notice that usually, one will pop up as soon as another goes away. I think stress has something to do with them. |

Hi Peter,
Yes, I have had major problems with that. At one point, I had like 20 sores in my mouth and had to have the ENT cauterize. Such a good time - NOT! I just find that my mouth is sensitive to everything. I eat an after dinner peppermint and my mouth gets all funky - like a weird coating on my tongue and insides of my cheeks. I can't chew cinnamon gum (as far back as I remember it irritates the taste buds on my tongue) but now it's gotten to the point that ALL gum and ALL mints have an equal effect on my mouth.
They told me I had something called Leukoplakia (medical doctors told me this). I had canker sores with a white spot in the center. I still am uncertain what was going on with all of it. I just find it so weird and SOOO annoying. I mean, it's your mouth. You have to use it a lot - talking, eating, drinking. So, when everything you eat or chew on makes your mouth all funky it's difficult.
I am convinced it is all part of this TMS crap. It's just one more fun ailment.
