Have anyone read book "Instant Healing" by Serge Kahili King?
The proper order is to read it after “the mindbody..”. Some of Hawaiian methods that author presents are in accordance with dr Sarno.
What is interesting: he says that a pain located at the right side of your body is usually caused by the anger on a male, the left – on female.
What do you think about this?

I know that I was attached to my pain, that it was a part of my life story. I don't think I benefited from it, it was just there, like an
unwelcome guest. I suppose any way that breaks you away from a pain syndrome/routine is good, be it a kahuna, witch doctor, or a ritual.
Or, even a medical doctor, if he is so enlightened to want to cure you.

King gives some prescriptions without scientific explanation, useful for people who simply want to be healed not working hard on it. And I assume that this is possible because we all know that the faith takes the most important role in the process. But large group of people like me and you must to understand what is happen to starts to think in different way/ start to believe in something else.
In King’s book I can read about the motivation and the authority, which are necessary for recovery. Sarno assumes that getting rid of pain is universal motivation. Who can be the authority? Probably Sarno himself, but he is living 5000 km from me, or someone one the board.
Why I am writing all of that, sometimes such a thought comes to me: ”Am I really want to get better? For what? I wouldn’t be able to self-indulge any more.”
Then I am scared: what the bull****s!!! Is it really me?
But maybe looking for the motivation to recovery is as much important as the rest of the therapy.

Serge Kahili King is talking about pain management, ie live with your pain and learn to deal with it. Dr. Sarno, however, is talking about pain eradication. This is done by getting to the core source of the pain, and not just about thinking happy thoughts. Read Sarno books at least 5 times each, especially the psychology and treatment sections. I think if more people did this many of the questions they have would be answered, thus making it unnecessary to post them on this board. If you are convinced you have TMS, try not to read too many other non TMS books as you will become confused and this will slow down your recovery. Remember, that even in the alternative field there is a lot of quackery.

Very funny really,
But about favorite things: some author suggest during “hardcore” pain think about favorite things (f.e. girls in white dresses). Sarno says: think of anger. How to conciliate these two focuses?

@2scoops..I must be in reeeally deep trouble because mine started on the left, and then moved to the right..I hAD THEM both simultaneously....Uh oh!!

but seriously folks

Louise Hay says something similar. She also has a sort of index I use to get a possible 'clue' as to where to start looking, however I would never, ever have read her book if I didn't have a working knowledge of Sarno's stuff.I defer to her a lot using the PROCESS of TMS banishment. However I was so indoctrinated into medical mythology I would have laughed at her previously.

Sarno by his own admission didn't invent the idea of Mindbody pain...his genius is in deducing the physiology and coming up with a simple therapeutic remedy.

...now where did I leave my favorite dress?

Well considering I'm a male and my pain is on my left, I hope not.
