My wife and I had a doctor friend over the weekend. I introduced her Sarno's work, as well as the work of Dr. Bernie Seigal and Norman Cousins. I convincd her to buy Dr. Sarno's Healing Back Pain as she was curious to learn more. She even thinks his diagnosis may help some of her patients which are not recovering despite all the treatment they are getting. They have some of the conditions discussed in Dr. Sarno's book.

We must never give up spreading the word and use every opportunity we can to tell others about TMS and the work of Dr. Sarno. Never assume people will not listen as you never know that the seed you plant today might grow into something spectacular tommorrow.

I call on every person on this board that they contact at least one doctor before the end of the year and tell them about TMS.

Peter,

I admire your enthusiasm, and think it would be great if more people could find out about TMS. I've actually talked to my Primary Care Doc about TMS and he saw the proof in the pudding (the changes in my health), and he now recommends Sarno to some of his patients that he thinks could be receptive to it.

But I also have mixed feelings about telling people about TMS. I think the best way to introduce Sarno to other people is just by speaking of our own experiences with his work, and modeling our thought patterns for other people. During my first year of TMS recovery I was huge on getting the word out. After that I realized I needed to stop doing that and focus on myself. Now that I am over my own TMS symptoms I will mention how Sarno's work has helped me, but I really don't try convincing anybody about the validity of Sarno's work. I do this mainly b/c for whatever reason some people just don't want to get better. Some people would rather rely on a doctor's advice or the medical industry as opposed to taking responsibility for thier own health. And when it comes down to it, its not my responsibility to convince them about something that they are not willing to listen to. I have too many other things I can be doing with this body that is now pain free!

For those unable or have difficulties wrting a letter on their own they can use this one as a model:

Also, here is a brief outline of TMS:

I strongly agree. I've already written long letters to Julie's pain management physician, her chiropractor, and her craniosacral therapist, and sent books (HBP) to several people.
