Posted - 10/17/2005 : 19:39:20 That study is very interesting, and not surprising given the TMS concept that the pain is not caused by spinal problems in the first place. It makes sense that back exercises, which maintain a person's focus on their back, would actually make pain worse than general physical activity, which may do the opposite.

Posted - 10/17/2005 : 13:49:27 Yea, when I first extruded my disc at L5-S1 10 years ago (before I became a Sarno convert), the docs had me in physical therapy 3 days a week for a month. The exercise made things worse (lost the feeling in my right foot) and I actually got better after I quit the PT. -Stryder |
