Posted - 08/23/2005 : 07:10:28 :- your subconscious mind is a simmering caldron of guilt, anxiety, anger, regret, bad images and repressed emotions. :- the steam rising from the said caldron is "PAIN" and "FEAR". :- knowledge is the lid which will seal the caldron and stop the pain and fear :- that knoweldge is knowing that there is nothing physically wrong with you, there is no need for the pain and fear and that there is no reason why you cannot enjoy a full active lifestyle. :- all medical treatments, placebos, gadgets, props, special exercises (as opposed to normal keep fit exercise) and fear of exercise are not necessary (because there is nothing physically wrong with you)but if you indulge in them, they will lift the lid of the caldron and allow pain and fear to escape Jim 23rd August 2005.

Posted - 08/23/2005 : 14:57:19 Hi Marg,
The words are mine but the inspiration is Dr. Sarno. And of course everyone can use them. I suspect they read better rather than spoken. A lot of people think I'm mad when I tell them my sciatica is caused by my subconscious mind diverting attention from itself. And they all laugh when they see me limping. Sarno and myself will have the last laugh. All the best. AnIrishGuy. |

Posted - 08/23/2005 : 12:40:23 Great stuff, Irish! I have been reading a book by Louise L. Hay who says that WHO we are is also just fine. Our anger, pain and so forth need to be managed, learned from, and resolved whenever possible. Doesn't mean there is something wrong with us.
Perhaps knowing we are spiritually, mentally, and emotionally okay would help as much as knowing we are physically okay. |
