Dr. Sarno was just horrified at what the oral surgeon said about my daughters jaw! Said I should't pay him (I stopped the credit card before Dr Sarno even said that...wonder if I will get away with it!) And that the guy shouldn't be allowed to practice. Should be disbarred! (his words)
He said conscientious people (like my daughter) get pain because it is so hard to be conscientious. The brain doesn't like it and produces pain...I need to gently explain to her that it is ok to be a certain way...just that that is why there is pain, and not because of a deteriorating jaw joint like the idiot oral surgeon said...along with comparing her face to Jay Leno (not at all that kind of face!)imagine telling a 16 year old these things!
Of course, amazingly enough, the moment the surgeon told her he would rip her jaw open...and it might not even help...the pain went away. She has heard me yap about Dr. Sarno so much...she was more than ready to accept Dr. Sarnos ideas, as opposed to the creepy surgeon.
The thing is...that since Dr. Sarno DID change my life...it was like me talking to a rock star! A god! I was soooo thrilled! I was gushing a bit...I said "ohhh dr, Sarno...you changed my life in sooo many ways...made it sooo wonderful.....but you must hear that all of the time...." And he cut me off (he has always been a rather brusque man) and he said "yes, I do" very matter of fact!
When I first met him, I had been a bit put off by his matter of fact brusque ways...now it is just part of his "godlike" persona!!!
I am just (kind of) kidding about the rock star, god like stuff...but I was thrilled!
Then amazingly...I spoke about it to my son...the conscientious stuff, he lit up like a 1,000 watt bulb, and said "no wonder my back hurt the moment I called in sick at work..even though I was really sick, I felt I belonged there so much!"
Dr. Sarno...whatta guy!
