Hi, I posted a little while ago about dealing with RLS the same as TMS and am still hoping for more replies. Despite the fact that Dr. Marc Sopher says he has no doubt they are a manifestation of TMS, I still am reluctant to part with Mirapex, which I take for them, but which does not help at the dose I take, which is the smallest possible one. So I feel like I am faced with a decision - either go up on the Mirapex or stop it. Because it doesn't make sense to take it at the current ineffective dose. I am just afraid the RLS will be worse if I stop. Most people I know of who take Mirapex have to keep increasing it because they develop a tolerance. Which would, in TMS terms, be considered a placebo effect. It is originally prescribed for Parkinson's. So here's why I think it is a TMS equivalent. I can't lie on my back to read or watch tv at night because my legs start feeling like they have bugs crawling up and down them, but I CAN lie on my stomach. If I am knitting or talking to someone at 10 at night, I don't have them. But if I am watching a movie with my husband, I get a programmed response without fail. Butno matter how much I tell my brain to stop it - the creepy crawly torture - need to get up and move feeling - it does not leave. Any feedback would be so appreciated. By the way, I have been very successful with Sarno's techniques on everything else.

First I suggest you stop using the term "RLS" whatever that means. You are giving life to the symptoms instead of ignoring them.

It is not possible to command symptoms to leave. You have to ignore them and thwart their purpose. As long as a symptom grabs your attention, it is succeeding at its goal and it will continue.
