Posted - 08/02/2005 : 20:40:11 This comes at a great time for me. I am still working on ignoring my skin breaking out. I have always linked it to eating sugar and carbs of any kind. Breaking this way of thinking and fear has led me to eat a very very restrictive diet which I refuse to do now. My skin has always stayed remarkably clear when I only eat veggies and protein but I am pretty sure this is a placebo affect. I have halfed my vitamins I take now and stopped all treatment for a supposed yeast problem in my gut. I think it is all baloney - or rather TMS equivalent. I am taking it slowly as this kind of patterning takes a while to do. I sort of equate it to the fears built up with exercise. It took me time before I felt confident in running again |

Pleasant evening all.

Posted - 08/01/2005 : 08:43:29 Seth- Thank you for the article from the NY Times on skin disorders and their mindbody connection....I have e-mailed it to my sister in NH....saw her the beginning of July...she has been dealing with "sores" on her lower legs and arms for the past two years...they get better but never go away....she has had them looked at by her medical doctor only....he said they had something to do with her immune system...she is seeing a dermatologist (at my urging) 9/28....we did talk about Dr. Sarno and his ideas....she was not opposed to the concept....I am sending her HBP and MBP...after all....she is my sister and we share the same gene pool...and grew up in the same house....if it happened to me....maybe the same is going on with her! |
