While we're on the subject of baseball, I've actually felt that TMS is playing a role in the case of another high profile baseball player: Barry Bonds. He's been out all year due to a chronic knee injury that has required 3 arthroscopic procedures. But as is becoming common knowledge, these arthroscopic "clean-out" procedures are nothing more than placebo. And if you dig a little deeper, this year everyone was waiting for Barry to start the season because of all of the serious illegal steroid allegations hovering over him. Then, he goes to trial for tax evasion, and during the trial his mistress comes to the forefront, and the proceeds to testify not only about his financial history but she also accuses him of steroid use.
So, now Barry's knee hurts more than ever before despite 3 arthroscopies, and he has now expressed doubts as to whether he will return at all the rest of the year. It seems to me that he has suffered greater injury to the psyche than to the knee. |

Seems more like a serious attitude problem to me, using surgery as an excuse to get out of pitching.
I just don't understand how professionals who make millions of dollars a year to throw a baseball can decide to stop doing their job unless they have a serious injury. Boy do I wish I could call my boss and tell him "I'm tired of something, I'll let you know later" and stop working, and still collect my salary.
Oh well, as a Mets fan, this is good news  |
