Hi everyone,

No, I haven't fallen down an abyss, I've been here all along, albeit "lurking". I've been doing so very well and I wanted to share a few of the insights over the next few days that have truly helped to potentiate my healing:

For me, it was very important to understand that my pain and symptoms were no worse than those experienced by anyone else. More often than not I found myself thinking: I wish I had _____ instead of this chronic headache. But you know what? Symptoms are symptoms and anything chronic can drive someone mad, period.

In addition, as many have noted already, it is imperative to stop compartmentalizing the physical symptoms, the anxiety symptoms, etc., and realize that they're all part of the same game.

Ouch! Sorry my cockatiel is trying to preen me.

Also, it is essential to give yourself a pat on the back for any progress you have made. TMSers are notoriously self-critical and doing so only helps you heal.

There is so much that I want to share, but I'm drawing a blank. As more comes to me over the next few days I will be sure to post.

And guess what? I'm COMPLETELY off one of the two antidepressants I was on! I'm so proud of myself, because this in and of itself is testament to my healing.

Best to all.

Oh, and STOP thinking in timetables! (I know secretly you are!) ;]

Seth,

Nice to hear you are doing well. Haven't seen any of your threads on the forum in quite some time. And, congratulations on getting off the antidepressant. Good for you! Keep up the good work!

Laura
